Microsoft’s market cap is two trillion dollars. This is the scale of wealth that we’re talking about here. If I made 200k per year (a decent tech salary wage) it would still take me 5,000 years to earn a billion dollars, let alone save that much. Are you going for three trillion market cap? Are your executive bonuses not big enough? Your CEO’s net worth is estimated at $984 million, by the way. Why are you laying people off? Give us reasons. And yet she was cast aside? After 20 years? And now she’s asking the LinkedIn community to help her find a new job. A comment on her post-from a former legendary Xbox employee-praised her work at Xbox as instrumental. Two decades of her life spent in your service. A woman who had been with you through thick and thin for 20 years. I read a post on LinkedIn from an employee at Xbox who was laid off today. Can you imagine the fear and anxiety these people have been living under? Only to find their worst fears realized today? How heartless to lay people off three weeks ago, and then instigate another round of layoffs today. And yet you are still laying people off! People who have given you everything of their professional selves in return for, at the very least, a sense of stability in this uncertain world. You are an entity worth nearly two trillion dollars-the third wealthiest corporation in the world behind Apple and Saudi Aramco. Microsoft, you shock me with your cruelty.
